The Cat’s Pyjamas Preschool (2-3½ years)
At The Cat’s Pyjamas we believe working with children in age groupings is most conducive to learning. The unique structure of
complimentary Nursery, Preschool & Prep School facilities is designed to optimise learning opportunities. Our learning
programmes are designed to meet the needs of every child at each stage of their development and to actively support and
encourage robust learning dispositions.
Nursery (3 months - 2 years)
The Cat’s Pyjamas Prep School (3½-5 years)
We welcome babies from 12 weeks old to our Nursery. Each child will have their own primary caregiver who will
establish a trusting, responsive relationship with your child. Children in the Nursery spend a large portion of their
day in routines such as saying hello or good-bye, getting dressed, diapering, toileting and mealtime. Our child-care
environment reflects these important shared learning times, and hugs and cuddles are a big part of their day.
The Cat’s Pyjamas Preschool learning programme is fun! It is integrated and comprehensive, with a focus on the
development of children from 2 to approximately 3½ years.
At this stage in a child’s life independence has started, this will be extended upon. Self help skills are encouraged
and supported. Children will learn about routines which will foster language skills and the ability to concentrate will
be extended.
Our Prep School programme provides education and care for children aged approximately 3½ to 5 years of age. The
emphasis is on learning activities that are lots of fun and at the same time building character, independence, self-
confidence and self-esteem in these busy, curious young people.
