About The Cat’s Pyjamas

Cats Pjs-63

The early years of a child’s learning make a significant difference to the way they develop and go on to learn throughout their lives. Getting it right at this vital stage will build the lifelong foundations of success.

At The Cat’s Pyjamas children and families are at the heart of everything we do.
Privately owned and operated, The Cat’s Pyjamas Preschool & Nursery is committed to providing quality care and early childhood education. Our commitment to quality is reinforced by excellent ratios, qualified, experienced and caring teachers and a well-resourced core curriculum that considers and challenges all aspects of a child’s learning and development.

We offer a safe, warm and nurturing environment for your child. Our purpose-built facilities are bright, open and spacious, with a wide range of developmentally appropriate equipment and resources. At The Cat’s Pyjamas children encounter environments where creativity, imagination and the wonder of learning thrive. We are open 50 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday 7.30am to 6.00pm.

Our stimulating educational programmes are based on the principles of Te Whāriki - the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum. At The Cat’s Pyjamas we believe that when children are ‘learning to learn‘ they are gathering the skills, knowledge and dispositions to be able to cope with the diverse challenges of life, including the challenge of starting school. Our teachers create a learning environment that is rich in materials and interactions, with opportunities for children to practice choosing, thinking, negotiating, problem solving and taking risks.
