Currently, we have been focusing on promoting an empowering environment where tamariki are able to take responsibility and demonstrate understanding and appreciation for their learning environment.
Over the next month or so we will be sharing some of the ways we have been promoting leadership and responsibilities within our room.
One of these new daily rituals has been for one tamariki to assist their kaiako with helping hand out the drink bottles at kai times. So far, the sense of mana has been evident and the tamariki have been very empowered and proud to take on these small tasks within the room.
It has been great to see the tuakana-teina teaching and learning approach being embedded through this area, as the younger tamariki have also been watching and learning from their older peers.
